I started on the 22nd of August 2017
What is your career background?
I have career background of 10 years in retail industry from running a Spar on a day to day level and ran one of the best Spars in the country. I then ran key accounts management for a packaging company into Checkers and Nampak. I also was an area and franchise manager for a company that started opening bakeries into the townships helping business owners with sales and day to strategy and running of their business helping them grow and succeed.
I then have 10 years’ experience in the Insurance industry where I worked for Eqstra accident management division where I moved from claim administration to national supply manager where I set up a nationwide network of suppliers and helped corporate companies money on their self-insured fund as well as onboard new clients this included high level stakeholder engagement and reporting.
I have been working the last 3 years manging a vehicle assessment company managing with Staff Level of 30 nationwide.
What were you doing now?
I have just started operating my Franchise.
How did you discover the franchise and why did you choose this franchise over others that are available?
I discovered the franchise via franchise direct and the reason I chose it was that a student of business my curiosity as to what makes businesses tick gets the better of me. With over 20 years of hands-on experience of running businesses, I can offer my sound knowledge of Retail, Franchise Management, Key Accounts Management, Sales Management, Customer Service, Human Resources and Supplier Management to the success of your business.
Steering other people’s businesses brought me to the realisation that, while I had contributed to their success, there were other businesses in the sectors I had worked in that had tremendous potential, yet were either experiencing slow growth or considering closing. A passion to change this saw me form partnerships with business owners to help them reach their business aspirations and have the quality of life they desired. Since I am a connector of stakeholders and a supply-chain optimiser, I enjoy taking good business practices and streamlining them, as well as helping businesses and their people achieve spectacular results and be productive in their roles. I am unafraid to ask the "simple" questions to understand what is really going on in a business, so that we can focus in on solving the right problems together.
Through Business Doctors, I am able to provide an objective assessment of your business, identifying blind-spots of potential risk to profit and sustainability and to then help you expand the value of your enterprise. I welcome the opportunity to give your business hands-on, ongoing support and personal mentoring.
How did you raise the finances required?
When I left the corporate world, I received a pension and I invested it in funds on the stock exchange and this grew and grew until I had enough money to look at buying a business
How did you find the training material and support you received from your franchisor?
Before accepting and signing the franchise agreement, I met the franchisor, Steve Sutton and immediately felt secure that he is well equipped to represent the product. His hands-on approached impressed me.
The training material and models appears to be very complicated at first, but once broken into different segments and your understanding of the website is more clear, it fits with the expertise and experiences of years in business. We have set aside specific times and places to complete the training. So far it is clear that the material meets internationally accepted standards and I am certain that once we gain more confidence with the product, we will attend to the customers and the process will be easier.
What highs do you expect in your new business?
I cannot wait to share my newly found knowledge with my existing experience with the businesses in Roodepoort and beyond.
Forming partnerships with people and assisting them to identify areas in their business that they can build and grow to reach their full potential.
What do you particularly love about your work?
Working intimately with my clients and to form a partnership with them to see them achieve their goals and visions for their business
What are your plans for the future?
My goal for the next year is to settle Business Doctors in Roodepoort and to become an employment centre so as to grow and be able to scale my company
